Concrete countertop seminar packs the house at World of Concrete.

January 29, 2007

Las Vegas, NV - The concrete countertop seminar at World of Concrete 2007 in Las Vegas drew packed houses on both days it was presented. Tom Ralston and Jeff Girard spoke on cast in place and precast concrete countertops, respectively.

The concrete countertop seminar remains one of the most popular seminars at World of Concrete, reflecting the growth and excitement in the burgeoning concrete countertop industry.

This was Tom Ralston’s fourth appearance in the hugely popular concrete countertop seminar. Ralston, a third generation concrete contractor and president of Tom Ralston Concrete in Santa Cruz, California, is a regular speaker at the World of Concrete and has lead the concrete countertop seminar for the past three years, speaking with industry leaders such as Fu Tung Cheng, David Hertz and Buddy Rhodes. Each time the concrete countertop seminar drew the largest attendance of over 90 seminars at World of Concrete, and this year was no exception.

Jeff Girard made his first appearance at a World of Concrete seminar. Girard is a licensed professional civil engineer, president of The Concrete Countertop Institute, and Concrete Network’s January 2006 Industry Leader.

Girard was the first person to approach concrete countertops from a structural engineering perspective, and his presentation about precast concrete countertops focused on common misconceptions and aimed to give attendees a true understanding of what precast concrete countertops are all about.

Seminar attendees commented that they enjoyed the two perspectives that Ralston and Girard offered. They rated both presenters very highly, giving them an overall score of over 9 out of 10. Girard comments, "It was great working with Tom, and I thoroughly enjoyed speaking to so many people at World of Concrete. I look forward to next year!"
