Jeff Girard of The Concrete Countertop Institute participated in the Decorative Concrete Institute's "Getting Started in Decorative Concrete" workshop, where Bob Harris brought together experts in many areas of decorative concrete, along with his own talents, to give students a whirlwind tour of the amazing beauty of decorative concrete.

Jeff and Bob demonstrated both precast and cast in place concrete countertops, showing many of the steps, including grinding and polishing a precast concrete countertop and troweling techniques with a cast in place concrete countertop. Jeff presented a talk on the principles behind making concrete countertops. Lane Mangum, Student Service Director of The Concrete Countertop Institute, also gave a presentation on how to market and sell concrete countertops. Jeff says, "I appreciated the opportunity to team with Bob to show students all the amazing things they can do with concrete countertops. I was amazed at all the techniques used to create beautiful floors, as well. It was a privilege to see the breadth and depth of Bob's knowledge." Stay tuned to www.DecorativeConcreteInstitute.com for future Getting Started workshop dates from the Decorative Concrete Institute. www.ConcreteCountertopInstitute.com also lists dates for The Concrete Countertop Institute's intensive countertop training classes.
