The Concrete Countertop Institute has partnered with Global Concrete Solutions to offer a Concrete Countertop Master Class covering precast and glass fiber reinforced concrete countertop, fireplace, sink and shower construction.
The class is five days long and will be offered June 7-11 and October 25-29 in 2010 at the Global Concrete Solutions facility in Melbourne.
The class will cover all of the technical fundamentals of concrete countertop construction including templating, form building, seam layout, reinforcing, mix design, curing, polishing, sealing and installation. In addition, design instruction will enable contractors to create a broad range of effects, from rustic to contemporary, using pigments, decorative aggregates, edge forms, custom sink molds, acid staining, grinding and polishing.
Jeffrey Girard, P.E., President of The Concrete Countertop Institute, will travel to Melbourne to teach the class. Craig Clarke, owner of Global Concrete Solutions, explains, "This class will open up a wide range of concrete design possibilities for contractors in Australia. Bringing in Jeff Girard of The Concrete Countertop Institute will give contractors the opportunity to learn innovative methods and contemporary design from a master. There is no other class like it outside of the United States".
