NC Headquarters

Continental breakfast, hot lunch and snacks are provided each day. Classes run 8:30am to 5:30pm each day. Students should wear work clothes, but they do not need to bring any equipment. All equipment, materials and safety gear are provided.

Students traveling by air may fly into the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The airport is 10 miles from CCI.

PLEASE NOTE: MapQuest directions to CCI are WRONG. Please use the following directions.

Directions from the airport or from the West on I-40:

• From the airport, get on I-40 East towards Raleigh for approximately 5 miles.
• Take exit #289 for Raleigh-Chapel Expressway/Wade Ave. Go approximately 3 miles, past the RBC Center on your right and under the Blue Ridge Rd overpass.
• You will come to a light with Ridge Rd. There is a shopping center on the left.
• The next light, soon thereafter, is with Faircloth on the right. Turn right on Faircloth.
• Go ½ mile to the light with Hillsborough St. You will see an Applebee’s on the far right corner of the intersection.
• Go through the intersection.
• Immediately after the Applebee’s, before the Ample Storage Center, turn right to go through the Applebee’s parking lot, where it says “Not a Through Street”.
• You will come to a T facing Burger King. Turn left.
• Don’t be confused by the Dead End sign on your right, next to the Neil St street sign. Keep going.
• Behind the storage facility, there is a tan brick building and to the left of that a green and white building.
• CCI is in the green and white building.

Directions from the East or if you are traveling from the South on I-95 North:

• If you are traveling on I-95, get on I-40 West in Benson, NC.
• Stay on I-40 West/I-440 Inner Beltline/64 West when you get to Raleigh.
• Take exit #295 for Tryon Rd/Gorman St. Turn right to get on Gorman St towards NCSU.
• Go 3 miles on Gorman. You will pass intersections with Avent Ferry and Western.
• Go ALMOST to the intersection with Hillsborough St. You will see an Applebee’s on your left and a BP gas station (green and yellow) on your right.
• Immediately BEFORE the Applebee’s, turn left where it says “Not a Through Street”.
• Follow the directions above from that point.

Hotels

There are many inexpensive hotels located within minutes of CCI. We have pre-arranged a special discounted rate of $65.00 for CCI students at The Clarion State Capitol Hotel. The Clarion State Capitol Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, near Government, Corporate, and Entertainment Districts and close to universities and the Centennial Campus. Just mention The Concrete Countertop Institute when you make reservations, and make sure you speak to the front desk - don't let them transfer you to the national registration system.

The Clarion State Capitol Hotel is about 2,6 miles away from CCI. To get to CCI from The Clarion State Capitol Hotel, simply go west from Hillsborough Street about 2,5 miles. Take a left at Gorman Street. Immediately after the Applebee’s, before the Ample Storage Center, turn right to go through the Applebee’s parking lot, where it says “Not a Through Street”.

Transportation

CCI provides shuttle van service from the Clarion the first morning. The shuttle leaves the Clarion at 8:00am.

Many students drive to Raleigh or rent cars. Those who do not rent a car can take a taxi from the airport to the hotel for about $40, and then take the shuttle to class the first morning and organize carpools with other students.

Dining and Entertainment

The Concrete Countertop Institute provides continental breakfast and lunch for students. For dinner, you have myriad options, whether it's Eastern NC style barbeque or fresh seafood at the 42nd Street Oyster Bar in vibrant downtown Raleigh.
