Certification
Show prospective customers that you are the cream of the crop with Certification from The Concrete Countertop Institute.
This is the first and only certification program for concrete countertop professionals. Certification is available to anyone, regardless of training received and manufacturing techniques, mix ingredients and sealers used. It tests general business practices and quality of the end result from a client's point of view. There is no cost for the program, other than administrative fees to cover the time required to evaluate projects and written exams.
The process requires:
- Project evaluations
Submitting detailed photos of 3 paying client projects for evaluation by Jeff Girard. Evaluation includes inspecting quality during creation, after installation and speaking to clients.
- Written Exam
A written test on mix design, reinforcement, sales and marketing, problem-solving and other important principles that you use every day in your business.
- Sealer Testing
You must specify what sealer you use and submit proof of stain testing results using the CCI sealer testing methodology. Certification will specify Grade 1, 2, 3 or 4 stain resistance in accordance with CCI's Concrete Countertop Standards.
- Continuing education
Yearly refresher exams, which may include new technology, so that we know that you are keeping up to date on the latest techniques for concrete countertops.
Certified fabricators receive:
- Diploma
A certificate showing that you are a Certified Concrete Countertop Master, to display proudly in your showroom or portfolio.
- Logo
A logo for inclusion in your marketing materials, showing that you are Certified by The Concrete Countertop Institute.
- Referrals
Inclusion in a formal referral program for kitchen designers, architects, builders and homeowners seeking a concrete countertop professional. This program is designed to be more than a paid listing on a website. Those who seek a CCI Certified fabricator are told what qualifications you went through to obtain the certification.
Cost:
- A $115 fee will be assessed when each project is submitted. A $65 fee will be assessed when the sealer testing results are submitted. This covers up to three sealers used. An $85 fee will be assessed for the written exam, and each yearly refresher exam.
