All photos on this page are of Mandala Design's work.

This class will teach you how to design with concrete: how to think creatively so that you are capable of accessing your own unique vision and applying that to concrete as a medium for artistic expression.

This class features two world-class instructors, Jeff Girard of CCI and Jeremy French of Mandala Design. Jeremy has over 10 years of experience with design of concrete elements, water features, decking and landscaping. His background of experimentation, creativity and design provides the perfect complement to Jeff's engineering background. Jeremy's passion for design emanates not from his ego but from his genuine love of working with others to elevate the whole concrete countertop industry.

What will I learn?

How to think about design, and be confident in using the tools in your toolbox to make your own creations.

Students will leave with confidence on two levels: confidence in their ability to problem solve and think through the design process, and confidence in their ability to work with the tools they already have in their toolboxes for casting concrete in 3 dimensions, such as GFRC, wet cast and hand packed casting methods, molds with fiberglass, rubber, plaster, etc. and the basic 3-dimensional applications of concrete such as fireplaces, showers and sinks.

If you need help in adding or improving your skills in these tools, take Advanced 3-D Mold Making 301 immediately prior to this class.
